Criterion makes full statement on Burnout Paradise HDD dependency
February 4th, 2008 @ 20:03

“In the interests of clarity”, EA-owned developer Criterion has sought to explain the reasoning behind making UK number one Burnout Paradise a hard drive-only title for full Xbox Live play.
“We opened a dialogue with Microsoft to attempt to discover a possible solution and all possible technical options were investigated to retain the seamless freedom of Burnout without requiring the HDD,” read the statement. “Unfortunately a solution was not available and we decided together that it would be in the best interests of the Burnout community if we require the HDD for full online play.”
The piece goes on to say the team is “dasappointed” to not be able to offer the full game to Core users.
“We’re disappointed that we are unable to offer Core users the complete Burnout Paradise online experience,” is says. “However, Core users do get to access the online Road Rule gameplay where they can compete to see who has the best time or the best showtime score amongst their friends on each of the games 64 roads.”
It goes on. Read the full thing here.

Man I’d be disappointed if I was a Core owner.
Freerun and the Challenges arr like the most important part of the online mode, if not the whole game.

I realy hate the now dubed Arcade Bundle (Its a core renaming it wont change that). I’m glad they made it dependent on the hdd gives people more reason not to buy the pointless Core.
