Dualshock 3 not packaged with Japanese silver PS3 bundle
February 5th, 2008 @ 15:47

And eagle eye award of the day goes to Blerk, for spotting that the “satin” silver Japanese PS3 bundle announced this morning doesn’t, in fact, come bundled with a Dualshock 3 controller. It’s got a Sixaxis in it, so it says here. If Japanese people want a Dualshock 3 they have to buy it separately for ¥5500 (£26). Which, frankly, is rubbish. This also means that Sony has yet to bundle a Dualshock 3 with the machine.

Rubbish indeed.
Mind you, at least Japan is getting something… it’s not like SCEE are doing anything much at all for European consumers right now.

It’ll get better for Europe later this year, I reckon. Got to be a heavy price cut in Q3.

You don’t get nothing past me, Sony! ^_^

It also says so in the offical press release. Right under the text.

A decent price cut for the PS3 in Q3 would be nice, but I’d rather they sorted out the whole backwards compatibility, Dualshock 3, HDD size discrepancy between the different regions.
Okay, the 40GB has been rolled out everywhere, but that leaves those of us who’d actually like an “Elite” edition with all the features of the old 60GB model back in - and more - with nothing to choose from.

You have a point. Taking out the back compatability was just harsh, in my opinion.
