Gearbox starts “big” project
February 5th, 2008 @ 07:13
Gearbox head Randy Pitchford has written on the company’s forums that work has begun on a “big” project and he’s looking for hires.
“I’ve started a new project,” he said. “It’s big. It’s, like, look-at-our-line-up-and-imagine-something-even-bigger kind of big. I’m Directing it myself. I can’t mention it publicly yet. When you find out what this is, you’ll likely agree that I can’t oversell this one.
“I’m looking for some talent from outside of Gearbox to join us for this one. Specifically, we need a super senior artist – lead artist or art director level. Can you motivate and inspire others while making sure they’re productive? Do you know the tools and techniques for this gen’s AAA? Want to do something that is going to be super relevant - that everyone will notice and play when you’re finished? You’ll work directly with me (and a kick-ass team) and you’ll define a *lot* of the game’s look and feel (and you’ll get to contract the best concept artists in the world to help you).”
Gearbox has a solid reputation and has handled some major franchises, including Brothers in Arms and Half-Life, so get your skates on super senior artists of the world.
