Bloody hell. It’s no wonder the world’s such a mess. According to the latest Bungie webcast, American naval troops sitting around on the ocean floor in submarines capable of splitting the world in half, “kill the boredom” with Halo tournaments.

“Halo’s hugely popular amongst all the troops, more so than I even though,” said new Bungie staffer and ex-marine Christian Allen. “We get accounts of everything from guys in tents in Iraq somewhere playing the game in their spare time to guys on nuclear subs at the bottom of the sea having tournaments just to pass the time and kill the boredom.”

Bungie also confirmed in the podcast that it’s working on a brand new title which is a complete departure from Halo. No details were forthcoming, however, as it sounds as though the game is a very long way off.
