THQ financials: Ambition and “old fashion” killed Stuntman and Juiced
February 6th, 2008 @ 06:49
THQ execs went some way to explain the relative failures of the Stuntman and Juiced franchises in the company’s investor call last night, which followed the release of third quarter financials. Stuntman, apparently, missed the boat because of an old fashioned design in which the player was forced to complete scripted tasks, as opposed to a more modern, open design where the player has freedom. THQ felt the latter design is more popular, the company said.
Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights, on the other hand, tanked because Juiced Games tried to release the title over eight platforms.
THQ said in the call that developers would now be limited to three platforms per game.
