Banjo for “this holiday”, says Kim
February 11th, 2008 @ 15:22

In this interview, Microsoft boss Shane Kim has apparently confirmed that Rare-developed platform update Banjo will be out in time for Christmas this year.
“I’m super-excited about what they’re doing with Banjo,” he said. “I think Banjo is going to be a big hit for us this holiday.”
Virtually nothing is known about the new Banjo game, other than the fact it’s in development at Rare’s super-secret Twycross hideaway in the UK. All we can say is please, please don’t make it mental and massive like the Banjo-Tooie, because it really pissed us off after the first one, which was one of our favourite ever games. Thanks a lot.

I liked Banjo-Tooie.

I thought it was too big. The first game was practically perfect in every way.

The first one was better, that’s true.

The first Banjo was amazing: I enjoyed it more than Mario 64, in truth. Rare finally lost the plot with Donkey Kong 64 - the most needlessly drawn out game I have ever played. I’m not sure they’ve fully recovered since.

I did love the first one. I got to the last boss battle and didn’t finish it, though, for some reason I forget.

[…] Here. You have to install Silverlight to view it properly. There’s no new information there apart from a spinning jiggy and an alternating picture of Banjo and a “coming soon” message. The game’s scheduled to hit this year. […]
