DMC4 sells 2 million worldwide, says Capcom

According to this, Capcom’s claiming 2 million worldwide sales for Devil May Cry 4. The game has now shipped in all territories.
The game is the fastest-selling in the entire series, with sales accounting for a quarter of all 9 million Devil May Cry games sold in the franchise’s seven-year-old series.

I find it quite incredible that the franchise has, against all odds in my opinion, established itself in the mainstream quite comfortably. It has “hardcore gamer” written all over it; I wonder what’s so attractive about it.

The first one was a wicked game. I have to admit, though, I never went back. It’s just “awesome”: knock-out graphics, massive fights, stupid music… I can see why it appeals to the “kids”.
