GDC: Itagaki thinks Molyneux is “well-rounded”

Team Ninja’s Tomonobu Itagaki, gaming’s answer to Bono, was his normal, effusive self after yesterday’s Ninja Gaiden II presentation, saying, in a nutshell, that GDC wasn’t his bag at all and that he won’t appreciate it until he’s “more well-rounded like Peter Molyneux”.

“I don’t make games for other game developers nor am I trying to transmit any sort of information or philosophy to other game developers,” he said.

“I won’t say there’s no point to it,” he added. “GDC is a very important event, and I certainly respect and realize what they’re trying to do here. It’s just a personal choice… Some day maybe when I’ve matured maybe, and when I become a little more well-rounded like Peter Molyneux, I may decide to come and give advice and give lectures on how to make games. But right now, I’m more focused on my own endeavours.”

Ninja Gaiden II’s now down for a June 3 US release, with the action title’s other-territory releases planned for “early June”.

  1. Did he just say that Peter was fat?

  2. I think he did.

  3. I’d love to see those two fight.
