GoldenEye XBLA rumours refuse to die
February 21st, 2008 @ 11:01

According to this, Xbox World mag in the UK is hinting with about as much subtlety as a drunk elephant that it has the scoop on an XBLA version of GoldenEye.
“Next Wednesday, in Xbox World 360, you’ll find the first ever shots and definitive hands-on details behind one of this year’s biggest stories. Yep, it’s the story the whole world wanted, but only we got - and we unleash it next Wednesday in Xbox World 360. Will you be excited? Oh yes. Will you, like us, be just a little bit angry too? Mmmm, maybe. Want to know more? The mystery unfolds - in shops - in seven days time.”
We’re literally shitting ourselves with excitement. Especially if the “angry” bit means “it isn’t happening and we’ve just wasted all your time”.

Goldeneye is complete rubbish these days. It might’ve gotten people moist in the late 90s, but even the crappiest of shooters dumps all over it these days. Quite why people want it back, I’ve no idea. Leave it be, you rose-tinted buffoons!

Innit. Unless they’ve done something serious to update it, that is.

But you can shoot people in the arse to make them jump. Nobody has copied that. Yet.

Heh. And you can shoot Dave Doak in the face.

I completely agree with Blerk. I really don’t know why it’s still so revered.

It really is one of those games one thinks is great but really isn’t. I played it some three years ago on my trusty N64 and the single player mode was terrible. Multiplayer was still fun, especially covering the hall coridors with proximity mines.
