Valve looking at music and video for Steam

February 25th, 2008 @ 21:38

So says this. Sounds like games are only the start for the Valve distribution service, as if you hadn’t guessed.

“We’re looking at more casual games and international games,” said Valve’s Doug Lombardi at GDC last week. “And we’re also looking at other types of content like video and music. We’re definitely having those conversations and meetings, and we’re reaching out to folks with other types of digital entertainment. I think before the end of the year, you’ll probably see some pilot programs with other digital entertainment on Steam.”

Pretty cool. Provided Steam works properly for you and doesn’t hang every 10 minutes when you’re trying to download Titan Quest. Not that that ever happened to us, or anything. No way.
