Japanese Wii outsells PS3 4-1 in February
February 28th, 2008 @ 09:14
Wow. Nintendo sold 331,627 units of Wii in the four weeks to February 24, compared with 89,131 units of PS3, Enterbrain said today, meaning almost four Wii consoles were sold for every PS3.
The January ratio was 3-1, no doubt pushed forward by the stellar success of Brawl and Wii Fit, which sold 1.33 million and 309,311 units in the period respectively.
By contract, Xbox 360 sold 14,079 in the same four weeks.

Poor old PS3. Smashed by tat.

I’m actually impressed by the 360 figures. Seems to be doing better than the Xbox did.

Properly Brawled and Wii Fitted to death. Powerpunched by cartoons and yoga. The humanity.

It’s not really hard to outsell the Xbox in Japan though, is it?
It is doing a bit better, though - although only recently, it was originally doing worse.

Heh - and that’s the only time Sony ever get to see a PS3 graph *that shape*!

Ah, but Brawl and Wii Fit are both good. It’s not like over here where the good stuff is beaten by Game Party and Mario Party.

Yakuza 3 to reverse this figure next month I expect.

I think that’s their best hope, yes. They loves Yakuza.

Next WEEK, even. Famitsu were certainly keen - I think it got 37/40.
Let’s have 2 over here first though, eh?

I’m not sure the first one did much business for Sega in Europe.
February 28th, 2008 at 11:26 am
It didn’t. But it should have, because it was bloody great!

Indeed it was. Sega confirmed a while back that the sequel was coming to the West, if only in the US. But it’s all gone a bit quiet on that front, worryingly.

I’ll give them a call.
February 28th, 2008 at 11:32 am
Tell them we’ll all buy it. That’s three sales at least!
February 28th, 2008 at 11:36 am
I’ll buy two!

*makes note*
“We’ll buy four…”
February 28th, 2008 at 11:49 am
Make that five.

No one’s picking up the phone. I just mailed them.

They’re probably reading this and decided to go for an early lunch.

You may be onto something there.
