Silent Hill V to be released in “Q4″ 2008
February 28th, 2008 @ 15:08

Speaking to videogaming247, a spokesperson for Konami in the UK has confirmed that Silent Hill V is planned for a Q4 release this year.
“Yes,” said the rep when asked if the game would hit in 2008. “It’s a generic Q4 at the moment.”
Previously, no date had been put on the fifth instalment in Konami’s flagship horror franchise.
More screens were also released today, this time a mix of PS3 and 360 shots.

I’m a super Silent Hill fanboy. And I have to say… this game concerns me greatly with its apparent rubbishness.

Which bit are you worried about in particular?

The fact that the graphics look terrible? That the environments they’ve shown are all remixes of areas seen in previous games? The addition of on-screen HUD stuff? The further concentration on fight rather than flee?
Basically all the things that made Silent Hill Silent Hill. I really wish the original team were back working on the series. Sob.

I’m definitely interested in trying it. Not as interested as I am in Dead Space, though.

I agree with the above. I’ve been a fan of Silent Hill ever since the first. From the moment the Lisa Garland died, and I realised how much I could care about a game and it’s characters, I’ve been hooked. What concerns me the most is “havoc physics”…are we going to be playing a third person shooter? I WANT to like it. I WANT it to be great, but if it’s just another twitch-shooter with the now-big-breasted-nurses (thanks for that to, movie, heaven forbid we had game didn’t have scantily clad women and doesn’t operate on anything but one level) that only appeals to people that just want to run around killing things…well…it’ll be a sad day where the only gaming franchise I still have any passion for was buried. Surely there are enough of those types of games around already?

Hmm. I’d ask Konami for an interview, but talking to the Silent Hill team is “interesting”, to say the least. I don’t know enough about it to comment, really, but it sounds as though there’s a definite story here.
