USAF wants 300 40Gb PS3s

Here. Apparently the American Air Force wants the machines because, “The processors in the Sony PlayStation 3 are the only brand on the market that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for this program at an acceptable cost.”
If it says what “this program” is on that page, we can’t see it because the whole thing is written in forcesese. But if you can simulate black holes colliding with 16 PS3s wired up, we expect the USAF can make some kind of Skynet disaster with 300 of them. So whatever you do, don’t complete this contract.

Funny how all these industries and organisations are suddenly seeing the potential of the PS3 “for their work” just before GTA4’s due out.
