Sony in discussions with Microsoft over Blu-ray

March 6th, 2008 @ 21:01

The fanboyz will love this. According to the Financial Times, Sony is in discussion with Microsoft about Blu-ray, talks that could potentially see Xbox 360 fitted with a Blu-ray drive.

The original article says, “A Blu-ray drive could be incorporated in its top-of-the-range Elite Xbox, or Microsoft could again offer a drive as a plug-in peripheral.”

The news comes from Sony Electronics US president Stan Glasgow, who said that the company was holding discussions with both Microsoft and Apple.

  1. Cats and dogs living together next. You mark my words.

  2. I think Sony would be pretty dumb to allow an internal drive on 360. It’s a major USP for PS3 now.
