Doctor Who likely for XBLA
March 7th, 2008 @ 08:35
See here. The Eidos Doctor Who game for PC, DS and PS2 is a Top Trumps title, and from the sound of it designer Tom Heaton think it’d make a good addition to XBLA.
“We are looking at versions for other consoles which could incorporate lots of other goodies,” he said. “We are big fans of UNO on Xbox Live.”
As reported earlier this week, Doctor Who is going to be shown off soon.

Isn’t it about time the beeb invested some cold hard cash and developed a decent Who game.

Apparently the fear is that the IP won’t work globally. I guess this is a tester.

The trouble with Who is that it doesn’t really lend itself to any “still popular” genres. He doesn’t run round shooting or hitting stuff, he’s not really renowned for picking up coins and jumping on Daleks’ heads, he doesn’t have a spaceship with go-faster stripes and lasers. He’s a bit boring for a game, really.

He’s perfect for a point and clicker.
I’m pretty sure the TV series has been dubbed for lots of foreign audiences.

Yeah, it’s perfect for a point n’ clicker.
So, like I said - it doesn’t really lend itself to any “still popular” genre. ^_^

You’re right, it’s well known around the world. Not sure how big it is with the younger generation, though. Or the older one, for that matter
