Take-Two financials: Additional episodic GTA IV content confirmed for 2009, PS3 possible
March 11th, 2008 @ 21:54

Take-Two has confirmed that it will release extra episodic content for GTA IV in 2009. The news came in a just-released financial statement, which also carried first confirmation of the 2K Marin-developed Bioshock 2.
“We also have significant visibility into fiscal 2009, which includes additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, Mafia II, Borderlands’, BioShock 2, our complete sports lineup, additional Nick Jr. titles under our agreement with Nickelodeon, and several new brands,” said Take-Two CEO Ben Feder.
Previously in the statement, Feder had mentioned “episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360″ as being cooked-in for the rest of 2008.
As no mention of platform was made for the 2009 content, speculation is already circulating that PS3 will be on the receiving end of the new material.

Yeah, I suppose the MS deal is exclusive content for the 360. Not that all DLC will be 360 exclusive.

There is probably just an embargo on the fact that there will be DLC for PS3 down the line, until after the game has been released, so that MS will actually see some money’s worth for their investment.
Anyways, can’t wait for the game!

It’s going to be a bit of a kick in the teeth for MS if that stuff is for PS3. Even if it’s a year after release, it’ll still make a difference to the people buying the PS3 version now if they know they’re going to get extra content at some point in the future.

Yeah, absolutely. Can’t wait to see how MS marketing spins this.
I wonder if they will be releasing some sort of GTA IV 360 bundle, with custom paint job, etc?

Now that’s a very good point…

Nah! I reckon that there’ll be 2 or 3 lots of DLC in total. One of them will be MS-exclusive this year. The rest will be mulitplatform and out in 2009.

I don’t care about DLC. So there.
