GT5 Prologue pre-orders “almost” hit 1 million across “SCEE territories”

Seems the previous report saying GT5 Prologue pre-orders had hit 1 million in Europe was a bit off. A SCEE rep just got back to us saying they’d “been checking this information internally and can confirm that we currently have orders for almost 1 million units of GT5 Prologue across SCEE territories.”
That includes Australia and New Zealand. So the racer’s not the first game to go platinum before release as previously thought. Just to clear that up.

Still a lot of copies. Which is a bit mad, as GT’s hardly the most accessible videogame ever. Like PlayStation, it’s trading off a powerful name, though.

I always forget just how popular it is, especially in Europe. It’s Sony’s biggest internal game franchise, innit.
