Ubisoft to make Clancy MMO
March 20th, 2008 @ 20:28

According to this, Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has just said that the publisher will now move ahead with the development of a Tom Clancy-based MMO. His comments were made in a conference call following the announcement of Ubisoft’s purchase of the Clancy IP.
Guillemot explained that the company had never been able to go forward with the game up to now because the cost of ongoing royalties from the title would have made the entire project prohibitive. However now Ubisoft has a royalty free license on the Clancy brand “we’ve really decided now to go for an MMO on the Clancy name, which is big,” said the Frenchman.
No time-frame was given for the game’s release.

shame the games haven’t been up to their old quality, the new vegas is barley improved from the first, lets hope graw3 is a proper sequel.

This stuff leaves me cold, tbh. I never got into it. I can appreciate why people like them, but the whole “anti-terror” thing really turns me off.

GRAW is my favorite of the Clancy’s, & the early Rainbow six games were good, along with the first couple of splinter cells.
I mean you expect an improvement between sequels but with vegas & GRAW 2 you can barley spot the difference & the online for Vegas is shoddy.
You would think that with games like COD4 raising the bar they would have stepped it up but ubi have been shitty for a while now.
The “anti-terror” aspect of the games is not too much to stomach.
