Why would/should anyone object to damage?

Games shouldn't be an advert for cars if they're being sold as proper next gen entertainment. No-one can afford the cars in GT anyway & if they could they wouldn't not buy one cos they totalled it in a game & saw it damaged! It's a joke..

It's considered standard at this stage in racing games & while a game like GT5 hasn't got any damage it can't be considered a real driving simulator cos guess what? You can't crash a car in real life without damage or consequences so the racing isn't really that exciting either. People using each other or walls/barriers to go round bends and all that.. total nonsense!!

And we shouldn't be asking for damage alone to be added but also for proper crashes now and again. I know it's about the racing line & all that jazz but crashes happen & if it's trying to be a simulator then really that's also integral to a racing game with cars trying to be believable whilst travelling at high speeds etc.

Manufacturers/Polyphony with your crap phony physics get over yourselves or indeed eventually be blown away by the likes of GRID etc.

I want to love it beyond the gloss & the potential in GT is clearly massive but i can see why so many dismiss it as boring, anal, repetitive, predictable & tired.

And if one manufacturer says that they still don't want damage then drop it/them off the future roster & stop promoting their impossibly indesructable pretentious willy extension before someone sues them for false advertising when they crash it in real life only to realise that it's not protected by the latest impossible force field shield system that they were led to believe was in place by an unrealistic game or elaborate interactive advertisement.

And that's if they don't die finding out.
Don't let people think that driving so fast can't have consequences basically.
Why did i not just say that?

& why do you (Polyphony) not just do that?

and relax.. deep breaths...

The problem is that if one says they don't want damage, then none of them can have it.

Polyphony have always had a special relationship with some manufacturers. I've always taken their "we can't do damage as the manufacturers won't let us" with a pinch of salt though.

He talks as though deformation is a brand new thing in racing games that feature licensed cars.
