Jade Raymond working on “new project”
March 28th, 2008 @ 06:53

Ubi boss Yves Guillemot has revealed that the internet’s pin-up games producer, Jade Raymond, is now working on something new after finishing Assassin’s Creed.
“I view Jade as a very skilled and creative producer. The success of Assassin’s Creed leaves no doubt about that, and the attention she received from the media is due to the anticipation, buzz and quality of the game,” he said. “She’s currently working on a new project but it’s a little too early to share more about it.”
Dude, please. Frankly, we’re not quite sure how she managed to get through the development of Assassin’s Creed without cracking under the strain of the thought of 30 million boy-men wanking over her on the internet, but there we are.
Good luck with whatever it is you’re doing now, Jade.

Very nice and extremely intelligent and serious, sometimes intimidatingly so. I never got to meet her when I was in Montreal but that was how people described her.
Also, that ‘comic’ gave her the right hump, as you’d expect it to.

It was pretty funny though.

I feel really sorry for her, to be honest. I mean, it’s funny, but she is just trying to get on with her job. It can’t be nice to have at the back of your mind that you might be doing what you’re doing because you’re attractive. It’s a curse I have to live with, so I empathise.

It’s the only reason I write for this site, Pat. I was mesmerized by your good looks.

Good luck to her.
I’d say the commercial success of Assassin’s Creed more than confirms that she’s a very able producer as well as being a very pretty lady. It’s a shame that quite so much emphasis is placed on her looks, but in a way that can easily be spun into positive marketing by Ubisoft (which is probably why we’re reading this story, right!?
). I mean, there are relatively few games producers/directors who actually attract interest just by having their name attached to a project (Miyamoto, Kojima, Jaffe, Wright (Will), Spector and probably a handful of others I can’t think of right now), so if Jade Raymond can add her name to that illustrious list, fair play to her.

I’m definitely going to give Assassin’s Creed a bash once I’m next-gen-enabled.

Yeah, despite the criticisms levelled at it, it’s still a game I feel I want to experience. I’m kind of waiting on the PC version to see if the extra content improves matters in terms of the variety on offer. I hope it isn’t just padding…

Go buy it. Turn off the HUD and enjoy. It’s good, a lot better then the internet wants you to believe.
