He's 'generic-o-Bourne', based on the descriptions of him in the books rather than on his movie look n' feel. I think that might be a major problem for people who only know this from the films, to be honest. It's a bit like buying your favourite band's latest album only to find that it's all been recorded by a tribute band down the local pub.
