DS was biggest selling hardware in Japan in FY 07

According to Famitsu figures, DS was by far the biggest selling console in Japan for fiscal 2007, moving 6.3 million units in the 12 months ending March 30 2008.
Here’s the breakdown for the period:
- DS - 6,343,547
- PSP - 3,427,971
- Wii - 3,741,946
- PlayStation 3 - 1,197,418
- Xbox 360 - 235,318

Actually that’s not as many Wiis as I thought it would be. I always get the impression that it’s sold “a gazillion”.

Well, not too long to Metal Gear now. Both of the previous games sold about 800,000 in Japan - no PS3 game has gotten even close to that. Should be a good indicator as to whether they actually give a shit or not.

I can’t see how it can possibly fail anywhere. They go fucking mad for MGS in Japan, and it looks fantastic this time.
