Criterion plans to “transform” Burnout Paradise with DLC

Speaking on its site, Criterion has said its ambitious DLC plans for Burnout Paradise will make radical changes to the game in the coming year.

“You may have noticed us referring to our future new content by codenames. Just to clarify – you’ll see them in this order ‘Cagney’, then ‘Davis’ and then ‘Eastwood’. What we’re working on now goes way beyond conventional content updates, so we figured the usual 1.1, 1.2 version numbers didn’t do it justice. We will TRANSFORM Paradise over the coming year, and we won’t hold back on this blog. Our goal is to bring you EVERYTHING - as soon as we have it. We want to tell you what we’re making and why. We want to know what you think and you better believe we’re listening to what you have to say.”

New islands and car liveries have been promised so far, but keep a close eye on the site to find out when you’re going to be getting some of this stuff. Or keep a close eye on this one, and we’ll tell you. Either or.

  1. Cars that turn into robots. DO IT!

  2. The cars are already robots as there’s no-one driving them!

  3. So would it really kill them to allow you to turn them into huge stompy robots with guns?

  4. Transform? Tranform it into a game that doesn’t have the franchise’s best feature removed - crash junctions.

  5. Burnout Paradise is utterly awesome, crash junctions you play at most a couple of times (or less if you gold them first time which happened an awful lot in Takedown and Revenge) aren’t that much of a miss.

  6. I do like it a lot, I have to admit. It’s a great game.
