EA clarifies Rock Band 360 DLC Euro pricing
April 8th, 2008 @ 14:01
EA has confirmed to videogaming247 that all Rock Band tracks will cost at least 160 MS Points in Europe.
“I can confirm that the tracks will be 160 Points,” said a rep.
The info originally came from a press release this morning, that said, “Each track will be available for 160 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360.”
The pricing means the base level for tracks for the game is twice that of the US, where songs start at 80 MS Points for the 360 version.
Hit this for details of Rock Band’s European launch, and this for news that the game is to cost £180 in its entirety.

“At least” 160 points? There’s room for charging even more?

Hahahahahahaha!!!!!
This is absolutely hilarious. I’m actually quite glad I had no intention of ever buying this in the first place because at least I’m not having to deal with any sort of disappointment.
This kind of treatment from EA and - yes - Microsoft is pretty disgraceful if you ask me. I can only hope that sense will reign supreme and that gamers avoid this title in their droves.
Activision will be laughing their collective arses off!

Thank christ I picked up the PS3 version in the US last December.
I had a feeling it’d be bad, but not this bad…

Maybe the press release was originally dated April, 1st? This really is a neverending travesty…
Edit: ARGGll, seriously, who can blame’em: Why would they want to see it flying off the shelves at a reasonable pricing and make billions with micro-transactions when they can sell just 120 in all europe?
bye,
Alex

Ever get the feeling we’re subsidising the low prices in the US? Yeah..
