GAME stops taking GTA IV pre-orders
April 8th, 2008 @ 14:43
GAME has stopped GTA IV pre-orders on both PS3 and 360.
The product pages on the retailers site now carry the message, “Please Note: We cannot guarantee delivery on the day of release for orders placed on or after the 7th of April.”
You can, however, still order the “superb” Special Edition at GAME. For £70.

Well I’ve got the Special Edition ordered with them as I’m such an insane GTA fan, 11% on Quidco along with double GAME points make it slightly more palatable.

I’m just going to walk in to a games shop on release day and pick it up. Easy.

My local Gamestation told me they’d taken nearly 400 pre-orders for it. I suspect that may be a *tiny* bit over their allocation.

Heh, where do you live?
I’ve never not been able to get a game on day 1, and with internet buying more popular than ever, there will be even more copies of it on the high street. If you can’t find it in GAME, you could always try GameStation. Or Woolworths. Or HMV. Or Zaavi. Or WH Smith. Or Tesco. Or Asda. Or CEX. Or Currys. But I supposed if ALL of those sell out, then you might have been better to pre-order.

I like it, yep. I’m all about the seaside. We’re hopefully moving soon, though. Bigger house for the win.

Yes, there’ll probably be plenty in the shops. AT A HIGH PRICE!

Here are a couple of nice little quotes from a guy at Play. GTA4 is apparently their fastest selling PS3 title so far by a clear mile, and is already shifting hardware:
