Germany considers limiting store game demos to combat truancy
April 13th, 2008 @ 19:37
According to this Deutsche Welle report, a Hamburg politician has proposed that electronics shops in Germany switch off game demo machines during school hours in an effort to combat truancy.
“Truancy can be the beginning of a criminal career and that’s why we have to intervene,” said Udo Nagel, probably whilst banging a table. “Not every truant becomes criminal, but criminals skipped school at one time or another.”
Nagel is proposing that console stay turned off on week days until 3pm.
The interior ministers of Germany’s 16 states will discuss the measure at their spring conference in Brandenburg on April 16-18.

Don’t get me wrong, but every single comment of yours brings a smile to my face. I never really can help myself but hear Daniel Day-Lewis’ selfmade oiliopath, commenting on daily vg-business each time you write something on here. Which is - at least in my head - absolutely hilarious.
To the topic:
Vell, ve germens really like to regulate zings, so zere’s zat!
