UK MGO Beta ready for download

April 17th, 2008 @ 14:06

The UK Playstation Store has just updated to include the highly anticipated and much discussed Metal Gear Online beta.

The beta itself isn’t scheduled go live until Monday 21, but now you can actually look at it sitting on your HDD in the XMB for the next three-and-a-half days. Which is nice.

Other things to appear on the PS Store this week are:

  • Warhawk - Operation: Broken Mirror - £3.99
  • Lair - Deadly Dragons Pack - Free
  • Grand Theft Auto 4 - Trailer 4 (Everyone’s A Rat) - Free

  1. You can also try to update the MGO beta to 1.01 via http or
peer to peer, but with all the server activity going on now it’s next to impossible. :D

  2. Donwloading firmware/updates on the PS3 is a nightmare, there is no other word to describe it.

Demos and stuff are always fine, so I’m not sure why the firmware and updates are:

    A - Super slow
    B - Prone to fail

  3. Never had any problems with the fw updates, but damn, MGO gets network when trying to download the user agreement text file now! :)

You can also look at the nice trailer they’ve included, which incidentally has really stoked my interest in this, from sheer curiosity to OMG…and probably a pre-order clincher on the game, too. Bloody update, is clearly the fly in this ointment, though. :(
