I shall be picking up a new machine round about Christmas time. But not before. Unless I win one, or something.

Although to be honest, I could probably last another year judging by the size of my PS2 gaming backlog. Good job the PS3 can play PS2 ga... oh no! :-D

Definitely seems to be shaping up as an awesome game which considering how good Fallout 1&2 were means Bethesda probably won't be getting firebombed by irate fans.
Never played oblivion or morrowind so dont have that Bethesda feel which is quite cool in a way.

Shame they couldnt have VATS work like it did in original fallout with combat being turn based the whole time.
still, if the actions points recharge really quick then maybe you can do mostly VATS combat.

Either way, im getting a new gfx card for this beaut :D

You'd have thought that 90% of the engine work would've already been done for Oblivion, and that's what's tricky to port between platforms, not the actual game content. But they can delay it if they like - I don't have a PS360 anyway. ;-)

Well, it took 'em a fair while after the 360 release to get it right, however.

I just hope the PS3 porting process doesn't delay the game.

The PS3 port of Oblivion was fine, so I see no reason to doubt their mad portage skillz this time either.

I hope this game is good. I (regrettably) never finished either of the previous two games, and my memory of them is pretty hazy. I feel like I should go back and play them before playing this.

Sounds brilliant. Just my sort of game, in fact.

I really hope the PS3 port is lovingly handled. Not because I'll buy it, but it seems like a game like this should be played by everyone.

Although if it is crap, the "fallout" (gettit?!) will be amusing to say the least.

It really was great. It's completely open-ended how you approach it, and the desolate feeling was obvious even without playing it. It seemed to have a proper sense of "place". I was proper starry-eyed by the end of it.

That sounds pretty good. I'm less concerned about the apparent shootiness of the screenies now.
