Ubisoft just announced the next Prince of Persia game, although it appears to have no name at the moment.

The game will release this year and promises “a new chapter in the Prince of Persia universe, featuring a new breed of gameplay” and will apparently “rejuvenate the action-adventure genre in addition to introducing a brand-new illustrative art style.”

It’s out for PC, 360, PS3 and DS “towards the end of 2008.”

  1. Things to include:
    Running
    Jumping
    Climbing
    Swinging
    Exploring
    Puzzling
    A bit of sword fighting

    Things to leave out:
    Stupid Dark Prince
    Stupid time-constrained health-draining Dark Prince
    Stupid Chariot Racing
Stupid Checkpointing that leaves you repeatedly replaying the same boss battle with next-to-no-health
    Stupid angst rock music

    Thanks.

  2. Actually, this is probably the most interesting thing about the whole piece:

“introducing a brand-new illustrative art style”

I’m thinking ‘Okami’ here. Colour me interested!

  3. I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never played a Prince of Persia game. That’s quite bad, I think.

  4. Tut. You should at least play Sands of Time, which is the best of the three. Tremendous fun.

  5. *puts on list*
