First proper Splatterhouse shots posted

Tiscali Games has published the first proper screens of Splatterhouse, and very violent it looks too. It’s supposed to be out this year, and this sort of trumps EGM’s exclusive, but there we are. Take a look.

Ah, so it’s God of War and Ninja Gaiden mixed up with a Splatterhouse license. I see.

The image used in the article definitely reminds me of Splatterhouse, of old, in spirit. In the first shot, you also have a pack of those howlers (i think they were called) springing at the lead character. It looks ok, at this point, but only seeing it in motion will determine what we’re looking at, in the new game. (helpfully!
)
@Blerk. I don’t think the lead will be anywhere near as athletic at Ryu, and if there are to be any cleavers used, I strongly doubt they’ll be attached to chains!

I remember playing this in Conway arcade when I was about 12. All I remember is hitting things with knives.

The arcade and home versions differed. My main memory of the game is splatting those howlers into puddles of green against the wall, with my 2×4. The noise they made on contact was brilliant punctuation to the BGM.
