Rockstar counting down to GTA2 on XBLA and PSN?
May 1st, 2008 @ 21:16
A GTA2 counter’s popped up here, leading to inevitable explanation that we’ll be playing an XBLA and PSN version of the game in less than ten days. There’s a GTA London symbol on there as well, and a pack including the add-on as well as the original game would be most welcome. Here’s hoping.

Hmm! I suspect Xbox owners might get the better deal here if they’re getting ports of the PC versions and the PS3’s getting the PSOne originals. The PSOne versions ‘weren’t great’.

Maybe it’s just going to become freeware on the PC? The original GTA is freeware already, isn’t it? I’d say that was more likely than XBL/PSN ports.

GTA2 is already available for free download from Rockstar’s site, so it can’t be that. GTA London isn’t, but that’s not really the focus of the page.

The page has a section about Playstation, in the “learn” section, which talks about development…The original development, lol. The presence of two timers makes it likely to be PSN/XBLA ports.

This is just the old website, and I’m also quite sure that the two clocks have always been there with the same current time difference; I remember it from when the original version launched and I tried to watch the movie on a 56k modem. This was to indicate the “slightly in the future” nature of GTA2. Could be wrong though I guess. Hope I am.
