Speaking to videogaming247 this morning, HMV and Toys R Us have both confirmed that more GTA IV stock is expected at retailers throughout the UK today.

From what we can gather, the game is largely sold out nationwide, following a huge first day on the British market.

“It should be in time for the weekend, so hopefully today,” said an HMV spokesperson. “A lot of our stores received some yesterday and the balance will arrive today.”

When asked if it was a nationwide stock release, the rep replied that it was likely to be “patchwork”.

Toys R Us gave a similar response, and it sounds as thought the 360 version’s going to be harder to find than the PS3 SKU.

“We do have a some stock on the way at the moment, a small amount consignment-wise of the PS3 version,” said a spokesperson for the retailer.

“They’ll be going out to our stores very shortly. There might be some Xbox 360 [games] as well, but not a huge amount. Obviously, they come in smaller consignments.

“I can’t guarantee them today,” the rep added. “Obviously deliveries come and go to the different stores all the time. It’s imminent.”

The update bears out what we were told by local retailers yesterday. HMV wouldn’t give any idea of the amount of stock expected at all.

More soon.

  1. I can confirm that HMV in Birmingham just got a big truckload in of X360 copies…

  2. My local GameStation’s got loads on PS3 and one 360 copy. Well, it did have. Because I bought it.
