It’s here, and we have to say this is probably the most excited we’ve been before 8am on a Saturday morning. The video shows new weapons, using locusts as body shields, open environments, co-op against brumarks, chainsaw battles, crowding locusts, finishing moves, massive vehicles, the full nine yards. To employ the vernacular, it’s “sweet”.

Absolutely amazing, did anyone notice how much the frame rate has improved? Look at the chainsaw sequences and compare to the original. It looks twice as smooth!

This would have been 20 times more impressive if the character wasn’t clearly confined into a tiny box of a space without almost no room to manoeuvre.
As it stands, it just looks like a glorified cutscene.

Bigger, Better, Badder, Greyer . . . That pallette is for the clour blind. Looks OK game-play wise though.

It all reminds of the end of Act 2 in the first one. Which was one of my favourite bits in a game that was pretty much a collection of favourite bits.

I want to play Gears of War again, but I just traded it for GTA IV.
I think I’ll lift some weights in front of a wall mirror dressed in spandex listening to hard rock instead. I find it so liberating. In a purely heterosexual kind of way of course.
