MS Gamer’s Day: Fable 2 screens emerge, new details

Banjo and Viva shots were “released” days early, so why stop there? New shots and details of Fable 2 popped up last night, ahead of Microsoft’s San Franciscan Gamer’s Day today.

According to NeoGaf post, the mini-map’s been dropped to be replaced with the GPS-style system used in GTA, and the RPG will include eight different spells, each with five levels of power.

Apparently every house in the game can be bought and occupied by your family, and each will open different quests. The game-world itself is 20-30 times larger than the original Fable.

And Peter Molyneux’s planning another three Fable games. This is great. Microsoft Gamer Days, like Christmas, should come every day.

More through the link. Shots after the break.

  1. This looks great, despite the screenies being more JPEG artifact than graphics.

But GPS? In a fantasy game? What what?

  2. *gigantic alarm bells ringing*

  3. I’ve got a naked picture of Peter Molyneux in my dungeon, erm, I mean my bedroom.

Fable 2 will be fantastic. I’ve already made my mind up.

  4. It just doesn’t really appeal to me. The first one didn’t either. I can see what they’re doing and it’s very distinctive, but the art style and setting puts me off. I don’t know why.

  5. ‘cos it doesn’t have oily space marines, like. Innit. :-D

  6. I enjoy “fantasy”, though. There’s just something about it I can’t put my finger on. I think it’s the ponytails. And the dogs.

  7. It’s got a graveyard in it! How can you not like a game with a graveyard in it?

  8. The atmosphere in the first one was what drew me in, also the charm.

Just loved the world, basically and can’t wait to dive in again.

I love the forest piccy… and as this one is my missus’s most wanted game it also becomes one of mine by default. =)

  10. Maybe it’s the boots. Those big boots. I don’t like those.

  11. I walked around barefoot in the first one. :)

  12. I always imagined you as being ‘hobbit-like’. Pretty good guess, eh?

  13. Didn’t you get pine needles stuck in your feet? So much for “realism”.

    *tsk*

  14. The first one never lived up to it’s potential for me. Not the Peter Molyneux hype potential, nothing ever lives up to that, but it always felt like it was building up to something bigger and then never got there. It ended up feeling like a massive tutorial. Hopefully they’ll sort that out this time.

  15. Did you know that there’s a dog in it?
