EA financials: 15 double platinum titles for 2008
May 14th, 2008 @ 06:51
EA’s has confirmed it had 15 double platinum titles in 2008 in its full year financials last night, and claimed it it still the biggest publisher in the world, according to this GI piece.
The firm had 19 percent and 20 percent market share in North America and Europe respectively, the firm said.
Additionally the company was the number one third party publisher for Nintendo’s Wii platform in Europe taking a 15 per cent slice - up from 7 per cent the previous year - while it took an 11 per cent share in North America.
The claim spit in the face of Activision’s assertion that it’s number one in the US. Who’s right? Who knows. Or cares.

Have you seen this report on GI?

iirc, that’s a stupendous turnaround for PS3 game sales. I seem to recall last time I saw any of these figures from EA the PS3 was dead last.
Seems that EA games have a new home.

Looks like I was right - Next-Gen reckon sales are up 192%, although pretty much everyone was a winner:

Yeah, just did a story on it. It’s very fucking funny that PS3 was higher than 360, although no shock on PS2.
