EA financials: Majority of revenue came from PlayStation platforms in Q4

According to this Kotaku report, EA made more money from PS3 than Xbox 360 in the quarter ending March 31, taking $152 million and $128 million on each platform respectively.
More cash was take on PS2 than either of the next-gen platforms, however, with EA seeing PlayStation 2 revenue of $166 million for the quarter.

So, two consoles, one with a massive install base, beat one other console in the numbers game? Cor, who’d have seen that coming.
Seriously, these sort of stats news reports are about as interesting to read as the ingredients list on a pack of salt.

It’s slightly more interesting than it appears, Peej - that’s a stupendous leap for PS3 software sales. 360 smashed it into the ground last time around.

And to think if EA actually made a game for the PS3 that didn’t jerk about like an old animated movie they could have sold more games on the console!?!

I’d be more interested to see which games make up the bulk of those Playstation sales. I’m guessing that they’ll be mostly NFS, sports titles and other sequels.

What’s the release list for Q4? Seems odd to take a quarter in isolation like that.
