Now the question is… did they stuff the retail channel with PS3s to hit their forecast targets? (Much like MS did to hit theirs last year). I find it quite strange that they’re only estimating 10m PS3 sales in 2009 when they sold 9.24m (to retailers) in their 2008 financial year.

  2. I’m just writing that now, yeah. I don’t understand it. Unless they want to comfortably beat the target, I guess, but it doesn’t seem right at all.

Doing that with the targets would be a first I think. It generally suits them better to aim high for stock price and investor confidence.

  4. Sony? Aim low? Surely not! :-D

I don’t understand that figure either. That’s like saying “we’ve no chance of getting ahead of the 360 in the next year”, which doesn’t sound very Sony at all.

  5. There’s no rhyme or reason to that. I’ve just looked at the presentation again, and I’m not tripping. Look: it’s on slide 19:

  6. Done a story now.

  7. Odd.
