Nintendo has been found guilty of copyright infringement in the US and has been ordered to pay $21 million to small gaming firm Anascape.
The firm stepped on Anascape’s toes over its Wii Classic, WaveBird and GameCube controllers, says this AP report, but was left in the clear over the motion-sensing Wiimote.
Anascape has also successfully gained payment for Microsoft over Xbox controllers, after an out of court settlement was reached before the start of the Nintendo trial.

Which patent was actually infringed? They don’t seem to point that out.

They’re not all radio devices.
It’s probably some thumb-stick patent created years ago with no real intent to use.

It doesn’t seem to say anywhere. It must be something very fundamental if they can get cash from both Microsoft and Nintendo over it.

These things annoy me. They are simply abusing a good system. If I was american I would sue them for bringing shame to my country. Then I would report them to the CIA.

Maybe “Manipulation of video sequences via electrical sensors”.
Or “User input recognition by mechanical/electrical or magical signal transport”?
