IGN review “rude”, says Haze community dev
May 22nd, 2008 @ 16:44
Talking with Gamerush, Haze community development manager Ubi_Wuzzi has called IGN’s 4.5/10 review of the game “rude”.
“I think they’ve been pretty rude with the game,” he said.
“During journalists hands-on we were really happy as anyone had fun with the game. Most of them stated that the gameplay was solid and multiplayer well balanced.
“Anyway, we have no comments regarding reviews. But as a gamer I would say that the most important are the user reviews. We’ll see how the game is rated by gamers.”
Haze now has a Metacritic score of 56, stat-fans.

Not as rude as Eurogamer’s.

That Metacritic score doesn’t include EG’s 4/10 yet either.

Being rude isn’t the same as being wrong.

They really need to just stay quiet about this now before they embarrass themselves further.
EG’s review is a real savaging, probably more so than the IGN one. Reads like a 2 or 3/10, actually. It’s a great read, actually. Bonus points for having a dig at Assassin’s Creed, too.

Soooooooo not saying something when presented with the opportunity to do it face to face and then rubbishing it later on in private is now not rude?
Haze may be shit but jesus christ lets find every single way we can to make it look worse at every single fucking chance presented.

Game journalists are NOT some sort of external QA!!!
They don’t need to tell people how to make a game, or point out that textures look “PS2″ or that the AI is pathetic or anything else.
If people can’t figure this out for themselves, then they clearly deserve whatever bad reviews they get.
