/doesn't see how it damages the market

JRPGs sell very well in the West, the 360 sells very well in the West. MS are expanding their portfolio trying to get away from the 'shooter-sports-driving-games' label.

All good, imo.

If they've given up then I wish they'd also give up buying exclusive rights to Japanese games before they damage the market irreparably.

I just think it's rock and hard place, a bit. The really big Japanese "next gen" firms will never support it with the likes of Dragon Quest and FF and the massive selling in Japan's all on Nintendo platforms at the moment. As Kim says, the danger would be that they move FF across to 360 and it still makes no difference. I get the impression they've basically given up from those comments.

The trouble is, most of the Japanese publishers who have jumped on the 360 bandwagon are producing Western-style games, which aren't appealing to their home market. It's all very well getting Japan on board, but if you lose the local "flavour" along the way then was there really any point?

Capcom have been very pro-360 this generation, yet I find their output mostly dull. And they were just about my favourite company last gen, too. :-(
