Ubisoft FY 2008 profits hit €109.8 million, five new IPs for next year

May 22nd, 2008 @ 19:27

Ubisoft’s announced full year financials, showing a profit of €109.8 million, a 63 percent increase over the year previous.

Sales for the 12 months ending March 31 closed on €1 billion at €928.3 million, up 36 percent from the €680 million reported in FY 2007.

“The surge in our profitability and net cash in 2007-08 was driven by continued strengthening of existing franchises such as Rainbow Six, Rayman, The Settlers and Ghost Recon, combined with the sharp ramp-up of the ‘Games For Everyone’ casual range and the successful launch of the new releases, Assassin’s Creed and Imagine,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

“Going forward, 2008-09 is set to be another record year for Ubisoft. We now have 14 multi-million unit-selling franchises and will be launching 5 new IPs during the period as well as new brands in the casual games segment.”

  1. Five new IPs sounds nice, providing they don’t all have “Tom Clancy’s” prefixed to their titles.
