Games Up campaign launched to lobby for UK tax breaks

May 25th, 2008 @ 20:27

According to this Develop story, 15 studios, plus Tiga and ELSPA, have launched a ‘Games Up’ campaign to lobby the UK government for development tax breaks.

It looks as though this is pretty much a direct response to Quebec’s 37.5 percent tax rebates, the recent decision by the US state of Georgia to introduce a 20 percent tax refund, and also last year’s move by the EU to legalise France’s ‘cultural’ 20 percent tax break on games production.

Develop doesn’t list the companies involved, unfortunately. You’ll have to wait until someone gets it from Develop mag and writes it on the internet.
