New Home movie shows media and events spaces
May 27th, 2008 @ 17:52

SCEE’s released a movie of the media and events spaces in Home. The footage shows an avatar running around lounges while presumably “having a good time”.
The movie is taken from an event in Home, where beta testers watched SCEE’s PlayStation Day in London live on a virtual stage. David Reeves, as you’ll see, appears on screens in the various areas.

It actually looks a lot better than it did a couple of months ago.
But i’m still not sure if i’m excited about it. Don’t know whether that’s a reflection on Home or my personality.

Looks good to me, I reckon. I don’t know why I wouldn’t use it, really. It’s free and everyone with a PS3 and an internet connection will be in there.

Looks good, yeah. As long as no-one I didn’t know spoke to me, it’d be fine.

I heard it’s *really* shit and pointless :S

Still? I thought it was actually working now?

*Shrug*… Guess we’ll have to wait and see!

I still don’t see who they’re aiming this at. Certainly not me as I’d prefer to spend my spare time gaming than standing around in second life. =)
I just hope that they don’t start forcing you into this rather than having proper matchmaking / lobbies in games.

@rauper: Yeah, it’s the same as I heard. Everyone I spoke to who’d seen it, panned it.

I can see myself playing around with it for a little while then popping in a game

It certainly looks and sounds really shit and pointless.

I’m still hopeful. I really am. That said, it’s either going to be completely shit, or really brilliant. I doubt there’s going to be a middle ground.
