PS3 Fallout 3 has no mandatory install
May 27th, 2008 @ 19:52
According to this Game Reviews piece, Bethesda’s confirmed that the PS3 version of Fallout 3 won’t need a hard drive install.
“We do not do that, no. We do the put you know, put the stuff down there that we need to be there, we can stream it on in and out of there but we do not do the ‘we need ten minutes of your time,’” an unnamed spokesperson told the site.
“We will cache the same way on both (Xbox 360 and PS3) we basically just like everybody you know if you have a hard drive, it does this.”

360’s lead dev though. So unless the PS3 version gets something extra special, I’ll plump for that one.

I’ll pick up the 360 version. But it is good to know hat fellow PS3 players wont have to deal with the lame force install of recent PS3 games. Win- Win for all!

For some reason I think the PC version will have an install…
It’ll also have tons of mods, hopefully, so that’s the one I’ll be picking up

Hopefully NMA will become interested at some point… I can see their community working out some excellent mods.

I’m not surprised he’s an “unnamed spokesman”. He can barely speak English, it would appear.
