According to this IGN story, Ubisoft has confirmed that Shaun White snowboarding will release for PC, PS3 and 360 at the end of this year.

Apparently the game includes seamless multiplayer and single-player aspects, as well as 15 riders with which to take you “shit” to the mountain.

“Shaun White Snowboarding will turn all of the traditional ideas and experiences of past action sports titles upside down,” said Ubi marketing bod Tony Key. “The combination of Ubisoft’s innovation approach and the influence of Shaun’s lifestyle and perspective make this gaming experience like no other.”

There’s a first look here. Expect to see more of it in the live Ubidays 2008 broadcast from Paris this evening, from 6pm onwards.

  1. Who?

  2. According to that IGN piece he’s one of the most amazing sportmen in the universe. I’ve never heard of him either.

  3. Activision did a game of him on the PS2 around the time that everyone was signing up every extreme sports person ever post-Tony Hawk. It wasn’t very good.

  4. Ah, I see. Hmm.

Palmer must be past it, or something, i guess?

@fj…No, you’re thinking of Shaun Palmer’s Pro Snowboarder (although White was in fact, a playable character in that game, too - according to wikipedia, at least - blowed if I could remember that! :p)
I do however, remember the demo being great fun.

Anyways, I’m getting ever-more eager to watch Ubidays tonight, and I really like the idea that groups of people can be found on the peaks at the same time, but then, you go off and race, do a challenge or what-have-you, and then its back to the community slopes.
This game sounds great, especially in how they’re NOT looking to emulate latter-day SSX, but instead create a more natural snowboarding game. I can’t wait to see something of this!

  6. Too many guys on snowboards called Shaun. Easy mistake to make.
