According to this GameDaily report, Ubisoft is considering making a game of the upcoming Prince of Persia movie, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Artertonas and will release next summer.
No other details have been given on the title as yet, which was talked about in brief by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot at Ubidays last week, although the exec did say the title will have nothing to do with the upcoming Prince of Persia reboot shown for the first time at the event.

I read something this morning that said the film was going to be the “main event” for the studio making it next summer. I had no idea children knew what Prince of Persia was.

It was mentioned in the Ubidays roundtable discussion on convegence between games and movies.
The Ubi-rep sounded rather pissed off that Jordan Mechner had sold the rights to Disney without Ubisoft getting a penny.
It’d be a real pisser for Ubisoft if another publisher got the movie tie-in rights.

There was talk about the movie and game at the Ubidays roundtable on convergence between games and Hollywood.
The Ubi-rep seemed rather pissed off that Jordan Mechner had sold the rights to Disney without Ubisoft getting a penny.
One wonders if it is possible for another publisher to do the movie-tie.
