Ken and Ryu not in Street Fighter movie, but may appear in sequels
June 4th, 2008 @ 09:23
Patrick Aiello, the producer on Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, has confirmed that Ken and Ryu won’t be in the film. This, brothers and sisters, is a heavy blow.
“There are just way too many characters in the Street Fighter universe to cram them all into one film,” he said. “We want to do each one the justice he/she deserves. So, in short, Ken and Ryu will not be appearing in this film. But, that doesn’t mean we wont see our red and white-clad heroes in potential sequels…”
More on the movie’s blog.

Chances this is going to get a sequel are pretty slim I would think.

lol!
“There are just too many characters in the SF universe, and Ryu and Ken don’t have breasts or really short skirts”, he said.

epic mistake. not that it really matters as the film will be terrible but nonetheless omitting two of the best known fighters?
why not just go the whole hog and dump the lot in favour of using of SNK’s fighting games? snk being so awesome at making fighting games an all…
