This actually looks brilliant. Nintendo’s put out a video of Mario Super Sluggers, the first proper trailer of the game in action, and it shows adventure elements, mini-games, power-ups and Donkey Kong throwing barrels instead of balls.
It’s out at the end of June in Japan, according to the footage. After the link. Thanks, Wiifolder.
There is no end to the stream of Mario shoe-ins. They’ll probably do Super Mario Ice Skating at some point. With the balance board. And Super Mario Darts. And Super Mario Synchronised Swimming. Super Mario Curling.

Mario did baseball on the Cube. It’s not as if the sports games are branching out further.
Anyway, it looks miles better than Superstar Baseball, and if the controls are done right, could be great fun in multiplayer. Decent graphics, too - but then it is a first-party title. If only more devs were putting the effort in on Wii.
