No Resident Evil 5 for PC, says Capcom
June 4th, 2008 @ 20:01

Destructoid has contacted Capcom to confirm whether or not Resident Evil 5 was going to be released for the PC and were told “nope”.
A very tenuous rumour’s been doing the rounds in the past 24 hours that said the stunning horror was heading to the desktop. Consider it crushed.
“Nope, it has only been announced for PS3 and Xbox 360,” said a spokesperson. “Our UK office will be following up with Spong [the rumour’s originator - Ed] to have this corrected.”
So there you go.

Bastards!
And after they said the PC was the lead development platform as well… doesn’t really make sense to develop a game on one platform and then not bother to release it. Capcom have always been fairly decent supporters of the PC, so I wonder why this title isn’t crossing over - particularly as it seems a very obvious candidate. More so than many other Capcom games they have bothered to port across.

Meh, who’ll get it on the PC? About the same amount of people who cared about the RE4 PC port (ie. nobody). Just get a damn 360 and be done with it.
It’ll make it to the PC eventually though, it’s just not been announced.

One of their more bizarre decisions, this. I wonder why they’d ever *not* do a PC version?

Well, since at present I don’t own either a 360 or a PS3, but I do own a decent gaming PC, I probably would have bought it (assuming the port was up to scratch).
And that was precisely the problem with the PC version of RE4 - the port was rubbish and late, so no one bought it.
