June 9th, 2008 @ 11:42

Update: A ton of detail’s just come out of the gamesTM issue. See here.

Update 2: And now you can read the entire OXM UK cover article online.

Call of Duty 5 has been confirmed as being called Call of Duty: World at War and is set in the Pacific theatre of WWII.

The news comes from subs issues of UK mag gamesTM, which landed this morning.

  1. who the fuck cares? its not infinity ward, its not real cod.

  2. I’m going to go out on a limb and say anybody who bought the last one, ie everybody.

    Yep your wrong TJ

  5. After the success of CoD 4, this is as exciting as watching paint dry.

Personally can’t see it selling anywhere near 10 million copies or being top of the games list played on LIVE.

A definite don’t buy or rent for me.

  6. I don’t understand why you’re all so down on this. It could be brilliant. At least wait until we’ve actually seen it?

  7. It could be great, I agree.

I don’t have a problem with it being WWII, but I find it utterly bizarre that it’s been given back to Treyarch. I can only assume Infinity Ward rejected the project, because after COD4 being the success story of last year (both critically and commercially), I can’t see any other reason to give it back to Treyarch.
